Have you even been on an airplane where there were three bouts of people screaming? There was one harrowing minute of fear just before Antigua. It got cloudier and cloudier as we flew further south. saturday, July 17 Nothing like getting up at midnight after a short nap to start our vacation! We drove to Newark and flew through Charlotte to Antigua. This is my first Tripadvisor trip report.I wrote it while relaxing on a verandah of villa in Montserrat overlooking our Caribbean blue pool, the ocean, the island of Redondo and our grounds of huge frangiapani trees, palms, grapefruit trees, and lush greenery, and while listening to a rooster crowing, and will leave it in the first person as if you are reading it day to day as I was writing it. On Friday afternoons you can enjoy the national dish, goat water at a local restaurant where it is served straight out of a bubbling pot and served with a fresh warm roll. A car is an absolute must on Montserrat and you can rent a 4x4 for about $30US a day which is totally worth it. Swimming is lovely, you will be the only one on most of the beaches there. The natural life, flora and fauna are absolutely stunning on Montserrat. I also really liked supporting LOCAL Montserratians running a family business. We were lucky enough to be there when the turtles were laying their eggs at night and Earl walked us down to see them and was a most wonderful host. You can also buy a cool drink and walk down to the beach with it (make sure not clean up after yourself!). Kathleen makes a killer vegetarian pizza which you can eat in the bar or on one of the picnic tables under the Caribbean sun, taking in the ocean breeze. It's one of the only places on the island where one can get a meal/drink. We met the lovely Kathleen and Earl who are proprietors of Bunkum Bay Beach Bar, a casual and very friendly bar overlooking the beach.
As for food, while Gourmet Gardens provided a beautiful, romantic atmosphere and great service, it was a bit of a let down that there was very little or no local food on the menu. A car is a must and I recommend Beebeep's Car rental.
The hike to Rendezvous beach was well worth it, and it is a fun goal to go to all of Montserrat's beaches while you're there. It's refreshing to go to an island that is not commercializer or Americanized.
BEEBEEP CAR FULL
We were on a somewhat tight budget and found the island to be full of free experiences. Although it is difficult to get there it was worth it. I spent one week in Montserrat in August 2010. In short, you can get around the problem, but never solve it definitively. Here too, however, if the power goes out while you are saving the file it could be corrupt and you would still lose data. In future versions I will rely on a database so I can save every message that arrives the moment it arrives. I have always seen BeeBEEP as an instant messenger (a kind of phone) and not an email archive. It's not the best, but I didn't "expect" people to memorize "all" messages.

I follow the idea of self-saving software like Word. you lose the whole "day".īecause every minute and not always "every message". Of course, if the power "goes out" while it's saving the file. BeeBEEP now saves messages every minute (if there are new messages), so if the power goes out you lose at most the last minute of messages. Yes, this was and is a partially solved problem. Insomma si può aggirare il problema, ma mai risolverlo definitivamente. Anche qui però, se la corrente andasse via mentre sta salvando il file potrebbe risultare corrotto e perderesti comunque dei dati. Nelle prossime versioni mi appoggerò a un database così potrò salvare ogni messaggio che arriva nel momento in cui arriva. Ho sempre visto BeeBEEP come un instant messenger (una sorta di telefono) e non un archivio di e-mail. Non è il massimo, ma non "avevo previsto" che le persone memorizzassero "tutti" i messaggi. Seguo l'idea dell'auto-salvataggio di software tipo Word. Perchè ogni minuto e non sempre "ogni messaggio". Ora BeeBEEP salva i messaggi ogni minuto (se ci sono nuovi messaggi), quindi se va via la corrente perdi al massimo l'ultimo minuto di messaggi.Ĭerto, se la corrente "va via" mentre sta salvando il file. Si questo era ed è un problema in parte risolto.
